100+ cupcakes for the big 3-0

Birthday cupcakes

I baked approximately 120 mini cupcakes in two main cake flavors: vanilla (a new recipe I was trying out from Glorious Treats) and chocolate. I added variety with the frostings and served the following:

  • Vanilla cake with salted caramel buttercream
  • Chocolate cake with pumpkin mousse filling and vanilla buttercream
  • Tiramisu: vanilla cake bathed in homemade coffee liqueur, topped with coffee mascarpone frosting
  • Chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream
  • Vanilla cake with chocolate whiskey buttercream
  • Chocolate cake with chocolate whiskey buttercream

Everyone seemed to love the cupcakes and the rest of the food and beer, so it was a successful party. Now I have to dig myself out from a weekend of revelry and get back to baking (as well as fuss with the blog template some more…Wordpress themes and Gigya are giving me a headache!)
